Name that Test? Teach those Kids.
August 20, 2008
If MCF is finished singing “Kumbayyah,” we can get on with our lives.
The SC Department of Edukayshun, is in the process of confirming what we already knew.
Testing isn’t important.
We don’t need to know what our kids know.
We don’t need to know how they stack up against other schools in the district, other districts in the state, other states in the nation, or the nations on this water-covered ball of a planet.
What matters is the test’s name.
With a deadline of September 1, 2008 and an annouced winner on September 3, 2008, you get to vote for one of the finalist names for PACT Part Deux.
Just click here to choose among:
PAL – Palmetto Assessment of Learning
PASS – Palmetto Assessment of State Standards
SCYE – South Carolina Yearly Evaluation
STARS – State Test of Achievement and Readiness for Success
STEP – State Test of Educational Progress
Remember, this is your obligation. It’s your duty as a South Carolinian.
Even if you’ve never voted in an election or for American Idol, you have the chance to help shape the name of the test that will show the world how our current educational system compares to those in which kids can spell.
