If it Looks Like a Duck…

August 12, 2008

After a rockin’ convention at HHI, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers’ Association, unveiled a new logo and a new name.

According to the news release, “Now called the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ), the name change is intended to reflect their new, broader mission and better represent the purpose of the organization.”

Well, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck…

The release adds, “Founded in 1958, SCAJ’s stated mission is to protect the rights of people under the law and to hold lawbreakers accountable.  SCAJ also serves as a professional resource for its members, providing continuing legal education to update their skills and keep them informed of changes in the law.”

For some reason there was no mention of chasing ambulances or working to make the state even more business unfriendly than it already is.

There’s also no mention of fostering stereotypes about lawyers.
