State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Seats Decided Today
January 31, 2008
With today’s announcement on the House floor by Representative Liston Barfield of the withdrawal of Court of Appeals Chief Judge Kaye Hearn for the soon-to-be-vacated Supreme Court seat, Court of Appeals Judge John Kittredge of Greenville remains as the only candidate.
Similarly, Circuit Judge Mark Hayes of Spartanburg withdrew his name for the Court of Appeals seat vacated by Don Beatty who was elected to the Supreme Court last spring. That move left Family Court Judge Aphrodite Konduros as the only remaining candidate for that seat.
The General Assembly will officially fill those seats and several others in a joint session in the House chamber at Noon on Wednesday, February 6.
